Asher Roth has been and will continue to be one my favorite rappers, despite his fallout from his first album when people stopped loving college. He’s laid low and stayed faithful to the underground with friends like The Cool Kids and Chip Tha Ripper who are both prestigious rappers (Chip’s time is coming soon). When I got word that Roth would be coming back with a mixtape, I was more than excited and I recommend that you be too.

Asher Roth is one of the best lyricists and underrated in the game. People have quickly forgotten about him because he’s taken more of a Zen approach at rapping and stepped back from the mainstream scene for a little bit, but he’s only gotten better.

Pabst & Jazz is one of the best mixtapes of the year and that speaks volumes because of it’s late release. With producer Blended Babies, Ash has created something very special with his focus on jazz – a long lost genre. Mixed with his lyrics and great features, each track sounds captivating and Blended Babies has captured the sound perfectly.

In short, Pabst & Jazz is a must cop. Download it and listen for yourself.

This isn’t really a review per say, but I felt the need to post simply because it’s Common. I’ve been patiently waiting for new music from him since Finding Forever. Granted he has come out with music since then, but I’ve been anticipating this classic Common for a while. This is the type of Common music I fell in love with back in middle school. He took it back to his Be and “The People” days.

This is the type of conscious rap that we need in this day and age. Money, hoes, and “swag” aren’t the only topics that need to be focused on. This album sheds a bright light on how rap should be approached.

The album artwork is amazing. I can’t seem to take my eyes off of it and it speaks volumes. It goes with the albums’ theme so well and just fits perfectly. There’s nothing much else I can say except that this is what rap needs and you should invest in it. Add it to your iTunes.

As I was listening to my iTunes, a song from 808’s and Heartbreaks came up, so I then decided to listen to the entire album. In the midst of listening, I was trying to come up with another idea for a piece. Coincidentally, I found this picture of Kanye that I’ve always wanted to work on, but I’ve never had the right approach. I sat and looked at it for a while and came to the conclusion that it needed to be unconventional. This was the outcome.

The best way I can describe this album would be labeling it as a matured, venerated rendition of So Far Gone. Of course, the two are different in their own ways, and of course, Take Care reigns supreme. Drake tells this story as he attempts to retrace his steps as an up-and-coming artist while he’s seated on his well deserved throne. The greatest feature of this album is that the songs are so synonymous. Take Care has easily become the album of the year.

For those of us who will be pleasantly surprised tomorrow, this album has been deemed to be something special.

First of all, let me apologize for not posting in a while. I need to come back. Second of all, if you haven’t noticed, I went to work on the new layout. Now we got that out of the way.

The Black Contour Collection is something I did with a bunch of pictures I had with that of which I wasn’t particularly a fan. I didn’t like the facial expressions I made, but I liked the gestures, so I blacked it out.

I feel like this has emerged a new style of mine. I will probably go further and put more installments to this collection. I just love the mystery of the picture even though it’s so simple. I’m a fan of my own work haha.

Shortly after the release of Perfect Is The World, Cudi finally releases the video for the hit song Marijuana directed by Shia Lebeouf. The video is a typical “a-day-in-the-life” style video that Cudi has come accustomed to.

Also directed by Shia, Cudi released a teaser trailer for his short film entitled MANIAC. It’s not the actual music video for the song, but it was inspired by it.

MANIAC is a short film inspired by the song. It is not a music video and it has no reference to the song content. It will be scored by Dot and I as a film with all new music. Directed By Shia LaBeouf for Grassy Slope and Ragin4Dayz Productions. – Cudi

When we chill in public, I want to show you off to everyone, but if you’re not comfortable with PDA I’ll understand. I tend to get clingy, so if you need space, just let me know. I hate secrets and I don’t want you to feel like you have to hide anything from me. I want to be your best friend, your boyfriend, and your therapist. You can tell me ANYTHING, no matter how bad. I’d rather know, because I hate guessing.
